Every year tens of thousands of cats and dogs go missing but microchipping gives lost pets a far greater chance of being reunited with their owners.  Microchipping provides lifelong pet identification and is a key part of responsible pet ownership.

Under the new law all dog owners will be required to:

• Notify the relevant microchip databas if their dog changes ownership

Identichip® is a tiny microchip (the size of a grain of rice) with an identification code unique to you and your pet. It is inserted under the skin at the back of the neck and is completely safe and causes no discomfort to your pet.

Reuniting pets and owners ..............

A special scanner detects the Identichip® and reads the unique code. Contact can then be made with either the practice or a secure, external computer database providing the owner's contact details. This results in the pet being reunited with its family.
