What if My Pet is Unwell on a Day that You are Not in the Area?
When you register for Vet in a Van you will automatically become registered and ‘under our care’ at our main practice, Longridge Vets where a vet is available Monday to Friday 08.00-19.00 and Saturdays 08.30-12.00. Longridge Vets is approximately a 25 minute drive from Clitheroe Rugby Club. Alternatively we can offer a telephone or video consult with one of our vets at Longridge. We will then be able to bring any medication your pet requires in the van, you are welcome to collect it from Longridge, or we can arrange postage.
Additionally, we have 365 days per year, 24 hours per day out of hours cover from the team at Vets Now. You can simply call our main number 01772 783327 where there will be instructions of how to access emergency vet care via our out of hours provider, Vets Now.
If you are using another vet practice alongside ours please let us know. This is so that we can share your pet’s medical details to ensure that your pet receives the best possible care.
What’s the Cost?
If you know anything about Longridge Vets it will be that we are always open, honest and fair about pricing, and that we strive to offer the most competitively priced care.
If you visit our Vet in a Van whilst we are parked up in your community the prices will be the same as what you would pay in our main practice at Longridge Vets.
You can view our prices here.
How Are Appointments Booked
Please call Longridge Vets on 01772 783327 to book an appointment in the van. We are hoping to have online booking soon.
Please attend on time. We do not have a waiting area so try not to arrive too early. When you arrive we may already be consulting a pet in the van, please therefore wait and we will be with you as soon as possible.
If your pet is being admitted for an operation or a procedure we will provide an admission time and then a collection time for discharge. We are fully equipped with comfortable kennels to care for your pet.
As with veterinary care in general, we are often faced with the unexpected. There are times where we have to deal with an unexpected emergency. We will do our best to keep you informed.
How do I cancel my appointment?
Please call the main practice as soon as you know that you need to cancel the appointment.
What about Medications?
We carry a well stocked pharmacy on board. Each morning we re-stock and plan for the day ahead. We will usually be able to dispense your pet’s medications at the time of the appointment. If in the unfortunate event that we do not have the required medication we will endeavour to get the medication to you asap.
There are several options for this, re-visiting our van in your community, collecting the medication from our Longridge practice, or we can post the medication to you (postage costs may apply).
